SEVENTEEN is a K-Pop boy group that debuted under PLEDIS Entertainment on May 26, 2015. The Korean act debuted as a 13-member group with members S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. The group is known as a powerhouse for their synchronized dances and self-producing talents. The members, who are divided into three sub-units namely: Hip-Hop unit, Vocal Unit, and the Performance Unit—also take on different roles to showcase their talents and specialties. However, despite having sub-units, the group is best known for their members actively participating in their songwriting, music production, and choreography, earning them the title of "The Self Producing Idols" of K-Pop.
After performing seven tours in the Philippines, the group never fails to showcase its strong and energetic presence to fans. Not only that, what makes fans charmed and drawn towards them is their authentic and close friendship bond with one another. Through their concert shows, variety shows, and other media content, it is evident that despite the amount of members they have, the group consistently express their love for one another, whether it be physical or emotional, both on and off camera. Their strong camaraderie and brotherhood have drawn fans to their songs and performances even more. True enough, their wholesome personalities and friendships have also reflected through their songs. Aside from their upbeat and energetic songs, fans have also expressed how SEVENTEEN and their songs have helped them grow and face challenges head-on. For CARATs, the group has become a beacon of hope and light, shining like the sun and providing them with energy and inspiration to keep going. So if you ever find yourself stuck on a sad and gloomy day, here are seven sentimental, wholesome, and hopeful SEVENTEEN songs to help you get through your days.
1. Lean on Me
When I became a CARAT about three years ago, I found out that SEVENTEEN is not only good with upbeat and happy songs but also with comfort songs. One day, feeling overwhelmed by deadlines and exams, I came across Lean on Me, one of the first comfort songs I discovered from the group.
Hailing from their third mini-album “Going Seventeen,” Lean on Me is SEVENTEEN’s way of reassuring us that when life gets hard, we can lean on them anytime no matter what. The song’s lyrics also perfectly encapsulates that while independence is okay, there will be times where we will break down and there’s no shame in turning to them. When the world feels too heavy, suffocating, and blurry, they reassure us that we can depend on them for strength anytime. Performed by the group’s Hip-Hop Unit (S.Coups, Vernon, Wonwoo, and Mingyu), the sub-unit whose main performances are usually filled with rough voices and loud music takes a turn with their deep yet soft tenors. Their voices quietly soothe us to quit the act and relax our slumped shoulders, walk towards them one step at a time, and lean on them for support.

2. Hug
If a comfort song were a person, it would definitely be Hug. As someone whose love languages includes physical affection, this song definitely hits the right spot. I like to believe that with the continuous support of CARATs over the years, SEVENTEEN definitely wanted to Hug each and every CARAT there is in the universe but can only do so much. Which is why they created this masterpiece. At least with this song, they can hug us, even if figuratively.
Performed by SEVENTEEN's Vocal Unit (DK, Woozi, Jeonghan, and Seungkwan) from their sixth Korean extended play “You Made My Dawn,” Hug is their way of reassuring that when things ever get too hard and unbearable, they will always welcome us with open arms, gladly hold our hands, and hug us the tightest. A song about never letting go, the lyrics tell us that it’s okay not to be okay and that SEVENTEEN can be our outlet where we can freely express our feelings and emotions. Aside from that, it is also a song about being vulnerable. The lyrics remind us that we don’t have to pretend to be strong all the time. There is no shame in admitting that we had a rough day and things did not go as planned. What do we do? Nothing, just relax. Through the song Hug, we are reminded not to worry, not to be scared, and that above all, a warm and nice hug awaits us to ease our worries.

3. 247
A song about memories, 247 is there to remind us the beauty of reminiscing the memories we have made with our loved ones.
Coming from the SEVENTEEN’s third studio album “An Ode,” 247 is performed by the group’s performance unit (Hoshi, Dino, Jun, and The8). The chill beats and tunes are perfectly paired with the group’s falsettos and lyrics about longing. The song talks about one’s yearning for the love they have lost over time and their attempts to hold on to their memories. Yet despite the unrequited tune of the song, it also highlights their determination to get their lover back and not only reminisce, but also create new memories with them just like before. If you’re someone who has been spending some time yearning and longing for someone, maybe this song can help you get the courage to never give up and let that passion live on.

4. Healing
From the title itself, a song about healing. It is not everyday you see a K-POP group be this open to singing their hearts about the importance of taking care of one’s well-being and taking the necessary steps to healing.
Released during the early years of their career from their album “Love & Letter Repackage Album” released way back in 2016, just a year after their debut. The lyrics put a direct hit to CARATS that healing is essential and a crucial part in staying healthy. In this song, SEVENTEEN reminds us that our body can only do so much and it’s important to take a deep breath, just enjoy your time, and take a rest when you need to.
True enough, I never took notice of this song not until I experienced burnout during my senior year in college. Filled with anxieties from finishing my thesis, preparing for my law school entrance exams, leading my school organizations, juggling my part-time job, all while just being a college student felt overwhelming to an extent. So imagine how grateful I was when a friend of mine turned the music video for me to watch and enjoy the song. Since then, I have always been more mindful of the activities I do in my life and the limits I impose upon myself for my own benefit. If you are at the brink of burnout and exhaustion, Healing is there to remind you to take a break and don’t stop this healing!

5. Smile Flower
A song about the inevitable pain of parting ways with your loved one, this song written by member WOOZI pulls a gut wrenching feeling of mixed emotions.
When I became a CARAT in late 2021, I always thought to myself that SEVENTEEN would be forever. Not once did it ever cross my mind that one day, my heart would part ways with the group and venture on with my life. However, as time passed by, there are fleeting moments where I think about how much I have been outgrowing SEVENTEEN, both in their songs and their other contents. As much as I hate to admit it, there are times where I would let their comebacks pass by me like it was just another news on the internet. I wouldn’t get excited much whenever they would post on Weverse, or even not enthusiastically bop to their songs anymore. Before I knew it, the idea and moment of “parting ways” described in the song perfectly encapsulates what I have been going through.
However, despite all this, whenever I feel sad or happy, I always find myself going back to SEVENTEEN. In fact, during those moments, I suddenly thought of Smile Flower and how its lyrics remind us that they will remain by our side and even if we cannot be together forever, they will always be the spring to our smiles.

6. Circles
Through breakdowns and breakthroughs, Circles is THAT song which reminds us that things will always eventually fall into their place no matter what.
Released in 2022, Circles came from “Sector 17,” a repackage album of the group’s fourth studio album “Face The Sun.” It was written and dedicated to member WONWOO which even earned the song a softer spot in every CARAT’s hearts. This song reminds us that sadness is temporary. While there are times where we feel trapped by our own personal circumstances and feel like there is no way out, Circles remind us that just like time, this too shall pass and the hands on the clock will go back to their places.

7. Cheers to Youth
A lot of CARATS have spent a huge chunk, if not, all of their youth with SEVENTEEN. Reminiscing all those years spent together cheering, listening, laughing, and singing along, Cheers to Youth is SEVENTEEN’s reminder that we should not take growing up as a bad thing. Even if our youth is here or gone, they will be with us every step of the way.
Ever since I became a CARAT, SEVENTEEN has seen different versions of me. From being that 19-year old Sandy in my bedroom getting to know them within the four walls of my room during the pandemic to the 22-year old Sandy in post-grad, they were with me every step of the way. I am glad I have spent and I am continuing to spend my youth with them- which I am sure is the same case for almost every CARAT out there.
Sometimes, we think about growing up and adulting too much. Whether it be about work, studies, or other personal problems, Cheers to Youth is that song that can help us keep grounded and remind us that we do not have to rush things. We are young and we still have time. Just like what SEVENTEEN said, let’s not worry about it and cheers to our youth.

Hi, I’m Sandy! I’m 22 years old. I’m a full-time law student and a full-time K-POP Stan! I enjoy reading books, watching films, watching concerts, and writing reviews about them!

Alright, I gotta hand it to the writer this article was solid. No fluff, no overhype and just a clean breakdown of why Seventeen dominates the game. You really nailed the part about their precision and unity. That’s not just talent, that’s discipline. That’s hunger.
The “Just say the name” line? Powerful. It’s not just branding, it’s confidence built on years of hard work. Seventeen moves like a unit, sharp and efficient, and the article captured that energy without trying too hard. Respect.
Props to the writer for putting this together. Real recognize real.
I love listening to SVT’s more mellow and chill songs; it helps wind down after a busy day. For me, definitely Kidult is my go-to song to listen to. It’s lyrics comfort me and the sound of it all is very memorable
Some of these songs I didn’t even remember 😭 But truly, SVT’s music is very healing and it’s a good pick me up, especially on the hardest of days
😍😍😍😍
This made me start listening to SVT…
