It’s that time of the year again when CARATs get to meet their idols, Seventeen. Lately, it feels like January has been the month made for CARATs, as we get to see the boys we’ve been waiting for. This time, they will be holding their concert on January 18-19 at the Philippine Stadium as part of their Right Here World Tour.
But before we get excited and everything, let's take a moment to see how far Seventeen has come and reminisce about the times they had concerts here in the Philippines.
Shining Diamond Tour (2016)
Seventeen is a 13-member boy group under Pledis Entertainment (now acquired by HYBE) who debuted on May 26, 2015 with Adore U. They have been to the Philippines several times and are set to return this month for another concert.
Before their concerts in the largest indoor arena, the Philippine Arena, and the country’s largest football stadium, the Philippine Sports Stadium, both with thousands of seating capacity, Seventeen had their first visit to the Philippines at The Theatre at Solaire with a 1740 seating capacity, making it more of an intimate event. It was a 2-day fan meeting as part of their Shining Diamonds Asia Pacific Tour held on August 14-15, 2016–a year after their debut. During the event, they performed songs from their first full album Love&Letter, its repackaged album, and their first and second mini albums, 17 Carat and Boys Be.
Look how far they have come now! I am so proud.

A year after, they returned with their Diamond Edge Tour, marking their first world tour and their first-ever full concert in the Philippines. Unfortunately, I wasn’t a CARAT yet and I was still a student, so I wasn’t able to attend. Also, looking back at the ticket prices, I wish it could still be affordable. But things do change, so yeah.
Their concert was held at SM MOA Arena on October 6, where they performed songs from their earlier albums such as Adore U, Pretty U, Mansae, Aju Nice, and from their third mini album ‘Going Seventeen’ including BOOMBOOM, Beautiful, and Fast Pace. They also performed Don’t Wanna Cry and Swimming Fool (Performance team) from their fourth mini album ‘Al1’.
The three subunits also performed during the concert with the Vocal team singing 20 and When I Grow Up, the Performance team who performed OMG and HIGHLIGHT, and the Hip-Hop team with Fronting and Check-In.

Just a year later, Seventeen were back again with their second concert here in the Philippines. It was held on September 29, 2018, at the SM MOA Arena and it was sold out. I believe this concert was the start of the never-ending Aju Nice tradition before ending their concerts.
While doing my research for this concert, I thought, ‘I wish I was there jamming with everyone’, but at that time, I just graduated and was trying to find jobs that could suffice my fangirling needs (LOL). They performed hits from their full second album this time like Pinwheel, Campfire, Clap as well as tracks from their Director’s Cut album—a special album—Thanks and Run to You.
Ode to You (2020)

Two years have passed, Seventeen returned to the Philippines for the third time. This time, it was part of their Ode to You Tour, held once again in SM MOA Arena on February 8, 2020–right before COVID-19 happened. Thankfully, the concert happened just before the world went into lockdown, but it was bittersweet since many of their shows were canceled because of the pandemic. Of course, the pandemic itself was really a sad thing that badly affected everyone (wishing that we’d never have that era again). During this tour, they released their third full album, ‘Ode to You’, adding tracks HIT and Fear to their setlist to perform in the tours.

Two years after the pandemic, they were back again (and I hate the fact that I still don’t fully stan them during that time!). This time, they performed twice in the Philippines and finally made it to the largest indoor arena in the world. I couldn’t be any prouder of them! Added to their set list were songs from their 4th repackaged album Sector 17 entitled _WORLD, Shadow, March, HOT, Cheers (SVT Leaders), and 2Minus1 (Joshua & Vernon) to name a few.
Although the pandemic was still just around the corner, the group made it complete on stage with a 2-day concert held on October 8-9 and an encore on December 17 of the same year. I still remember seeing that photo Jun posted on his IG account where he’s standing with a background of a Christmas tree and Christmas decorations when it’s just the month of October, and you know right then it’s in the Philippines! Also, that famous incident where Joshua was ‘scammed’ by a taxi driver charging him with an overpriced fare.

Finally, I can say I’m so happy that I was able to see them and attend their concert when they came back here for the fifth time. The concert was held at the Philippine Sports Stadium, fulfilling what Mingyu mentioned during their last concert—he said he wanted to perform at the stadium beside the Arena, which is the Philippine Sports Stadium. Now, Seventeen has become the first K-pop group to perform there on January 13-14.
One memorable moment I’ll never forget was the fireworks during their HOT performance. Since the stadium was an open area, they were able to set off fireworks while performing, making it an unforgettable experience. I also had so much fun joining the never-ending Aju Nice! Another highlight for me was the segment where they performed Home Run, Left & Right, and Beautiful with colorful props that made the stage even more vibrant.

After a year, they will be coming back again to perform their new hits Love, Money, Fame, Maestro, and many new songs from their new mini album ‘Spill the Feels’ as well as their best album ‘17 is Right Here’. This will be the first concert in the Philippines for the year and I’m excited to see what Seventeen has prepared for CARATs.
But I was a little sad since Jeonghan won’t be coming as he’s already enlisted and currently serving in the military, and Jun who’s currently focusing on his acting career in China. Though looking forward to seeing S.Coups, who wasn't able to join the last Follow Tour because of his injury. Still, I can’t wait to see them perform on the stage again. Stay tuned for concert updates!
I know I recently had just become a full-time CARAT, but I’m so proud looking back at all they have achieved up until now. I couldn’t get any prouder of them. Although it’s kind of late, stanning Seventeen is one of the best decisions I will never regret. Maybe it’s true what they say—Seventeen will come into your life at the right time—and this is the right time for me to meet them. Until the last say the name, Seventeen! <3
I’ve been a K-pop fan since 2010, and U-Kiss was the first K-pop group who got me into K-pop. I’m a multifan (main fandom: E.L.F), but I’m currently into Seventeen. To be honest, EXO got me into writing, specifically fan fiction. From then on, my passion in writing grew and I started to write stories, poems, articles, and blogs, and even joined our school publication back in college. The lyrics of the different K-pop songs I listen to have also been one of the reasons I love writing. It inspires me to write because it is where I can fully and truly express myself and share my thoughts with people.
