New name, who dis?
NewJeans members unveiled their new group name, NJZ, on Friday, February 7, through their Instagram account (formerly jeanzforfree, now njz_official) which was created after their departure from ADOR.

The announcement came via a series of official group and individual photos posted on NJZ’s Instagram, revealing their participation in ComplexCon Hong Kong under their new name.
NewJeans exited ADOR late last year following a public dispute in early 2024 when HYBE conducted an internal audit of its subsidiary label and asked its former CEO Min Hee-Jin to step down.
Meanwhile, ADOR also recently filed an injunction with the Seoul Central District Court to prevent NewJeans members from signing independent commercial deals without the company’s consent.
We are excited to see NewJeans back on stage! However, this move has made us curious about their setlist, given the ongoing copyright and trademark battle over their songs.
