A bittersweet day for ReVeluv Land.

On Friday, April 4, SM Entertainment announced via Red Velvet’s official X (formerly Twitter) account that the exclusive contracts of the group’s members, Wendy and Yeri, had officially ended. However, both members will remain part of the group and continue to participate in future activities.

Prior to the label’s announcement, Yeri took to Bubble, the online chatting platform used by idols, at midnight KST of the same day. She informed fans that a news article would be released by SM Entertainment, hinting at the sad news. She has assured fans that she is moving forward in a new and brave way, thanks to their support.

Earlier this year, their now-former management revealed late that the two members would be sitting out performances for SM Entertainment’s 30th Anniversary concert, SMTown Live, disappointing fans who were looking forward to seeing the whole group. Wendy later revealed that she had informed the company prior to the tour’s announcement. Yeri, on the other hand, revealed that she would only be participating in the group’s own performances.

We’re sad to see them go, but we’re looking forward to what’s to come for Wendy and Yeri’s solo plans, as well as Red Velvet’s future as a group. For now, we’ll be cheering them on. What are your thoughts on this, ReVeluv bepeus? How did you feel upon reading the announcement and Yeri’s message on Bubble?
