Have your heads turned for this comeback, MYs? Aespa is back to cause a whiplash with their new music video and mini album, which dropped on October 21, 2024, at 6 PM KST.
Almost five months after the release of their hits “Armageddon” and “Supernova,” aespa has returned with their mini album and title track “Whiplash.” The mini album features six tracks, including the phrase-turned song “Flights, Not Feelings.”
Whiplash showcases electro-pop and fast-paced beats, combining pop music elements with electronic sounds to create a catchy track that complements aespa’s signature style. The lyrics primarily focus on themes of self-empowerment and resilience, reflecting life in the modern world.
The music video immerses viewers in aespa’s trademark visually appealing metaverse concept, highlighting each member’s unique visuals. While we love the concept and the impressive talents on display, the music video feels somewhat underwhelming compared to their past releases. It seems more focused on showcasing their visuals rather than telling a story that resonates with the song. Nonetheless, the concept is consistently conveyed throughout the video.
Grab a copy of aespa’s Whiplash while it’s still in stores!
What’s your favorite track from the album, MY bepeus? We can’t decide which song to pick!
