Baekhyun Makes a Powerful Solo Comeback with "Essence of Reverie"

EXO member and solo artist, Baekhyun is finally back with his long-awaited 5th mini album, "Essence of Reverie," and honestly, it feels like the most Baekhyun album he's ever made! 

Released on May 19 at 6 PM KST, the title track "Elevator" arrived alongside a stunning music video that highlights Baekhyun's signature emotional vocals. It's so good — the kind of catchy that makes you want to sing and dance your heart out. 

The album features 7 tracks: Chocolate, Elevator, Lemonade, Love Comes Back, No Problem, Black Dreams and Late Night Calls. Ahead of the EPs released, Baekhyun gave us a taste with the pre-released track, "Chocolate" that had us all hyped up. And now that it's finally here, it's already breaking records!

According to Hanteo, "Essence of Reverie" sold around 784k copies on its first day, the highest first-day sales by a K-Pop soloist in 2025. It's now Baekhyun's second-best first-day performance after "Hello World." As expected from our incredible genius idol! Baekhyun never disappoints when it comes to dropping great music every time he comes back. 

What makes this album even more special and symbolic for Baekhyun and EXO-Ls/BBH-Ls is how personal it is. Not only was it released under his own company, but it also marks the very first time he personally took part in writing and composing most of the tracks, something he's been dreaming of doing for a long time. And you can truly feel it in every song.
