Pull up, pull up, CARAT bepeus! Our favorite HoWoo duo have grown!
On Monday, March 10, Hoshi and Woozi of the K-pop sensation SEVENTEEN dropped their unit’s first single album, BEAM, along with a music video for the title track, 동갑내기 (96ers).
"96ers" features upbeat and fun tempos that will make anyone who listens want to dance. The instrumental arrangement blends modern pop elements with catchy melodies, creating an engaging listening experience. With beats inspired by the South Korean game Red Light, Green Light and the nursery rhyme Coca Cola Mashita, paired with lyrics reminiscing about how they met and their chemistry as a duo, this track truly reflects Hoshi and Woozi’s friendship since their childhood days.
In addition, the track subtly nods to SEVENTEEN songs like "Adore U," "Cheers," and "Super" (whose Korean title reads "손오공" (Sonogong)). The lyrics also mention "Salute!"—the Italian translation for "cheers" and a phrase frequently used in their recent variety show, Nana Tour.

The music video took us through a creative journey, depicting the experience of viewing art in a museum. The CARAT Land inside jokes and references don’t stop at the track itself—they continue in the music video. Since "Sonogong" was referenced, Hoshi even strikes a pose taken from the choreography of SEVENTEEN’s "Super." On top of that, CARATs on social media pointed out the pink color of one of their outfits, linking it to the inside joke about Woozi’s pink undies.
