It has been years since EXO last released their winter albums, and I dare say, as a K-pop fan, Christmas has never been the same without their songs. From ‘The First Snow’ to ‘Universe’, EXO has always made sure to make us feel warm during Christmas. Since Christmas Day is fast approaching, join me as I start the countdown by listening to some of EXO’s best winter classics and feel the Christmas spirit through their songs.
Each EXO-L has different opinions about their favorite tracks on the album, but everyone in the fandom will definitely agree that EXO’s winter albums are all no skips. As we all know, ‘The First Snow' is very popular, as for sure it is a crowd's favorite and South Korea's official Christmas anthem because every time December comes, you will surely hear this song played in the streets of Seoul and see those lovely K-pop idols dancing on every social platform. This song gives nonstop nostalgia and makes us feel the Christmas spirit everywhere. However, today, I am sharing with you five personal favorite EXO winter and Christmas tracks that you can listen to aside from ‘The First Snow’. Grab your eribong, headphones, and tissues, for this will be a ride full of ‘I miss EXO’s.
First on the list is ‘Christmas Day’, this is a top personal favorite and I wholeheartedly love this track because, as a huge fan of this genre, it perfectly captures the emotion of longing and at the same time gives butterflies in my stomach.
Next on my list is ‘Miracles in December,’ also known as the ultimate song to cry to when you feel like your Christmas deserves a good cry. As a person with chronic yearning behavior, this song absolutely makes me bawl my eyes out. Kidding aside, I believe EXO poured all of their emotions into this masterpiece when they recorded it because how can a song be so heavenly and emotional?
Third on my list is ‘Falling For You.’ I honestly think this song is not much talked about or it’s just me, but this is pretty underrated. This song deserves so much hype, and I need everyone to tune in to this track. Everything about this song is perfect, from the lyrics to the vocals and the overall vibe; it's just beautiful. If you want a cute and chill Christmas, this song is surely for you.
Fourth, the one and only, ‘For Life,' of which I am a hundred percent sure that angels were present when the boys recorded this track. Christmas or not, this song is going platinum in my room for the amount of times I listen to it. D.O., the vocal icon that he is, gave his all to this song—and I know they all did like they always do—but his parts just hit differently.
Lastly, how could I miss the OG and most special song for every EXO-L? The ever-nostalgic ‘Peter Pan.' Though some fans may not consider this a Christmas or winter track, in my curated playlist, this song is definitely one. Everything about this song gives off Christmas vibes and the holiday season. It's like a sweet chocolate drink with marshmallows on top that you drink during Noche Buena and a warm hug from a friend you dearly missed, and that's how ‘Peter Pan’ speaks to me. Maybe it's nostalgia, but I think it's just EXO and their ability to sing songs that perfectly capture the feelings of their listeners.
EXO has absolutely made tons of beautiful songs that fans and non-fans can listen to, but since I am only sharing my favorites, I think this is the perfect time for you to start getting into their music and have a perfect K-pop Christmas. And as a starter, you can also add my faves to your Christmas playlist.
Have a merry and EXO-iting Christmas!
I have been a K-pop fan since 2013. The first group who introduced me to K-pop and fangirling was EXO. My current ult is SEVENTEEN and Joshua is my bias. I've been a CARAT since 2020, and I would say that it was and is still the best decision I have ever made. I have so much opinion towards things, and because of that, I discovered that writing those thoughts might be the best way to express myself. To be able to write articles about the things that I love is one of the best crossovers of my life.
