Oscars and Lisa? Iconic.
On February 25 (Philippine Time), The Academy Awards announced that Lisa of K-pop girl group BLACKPINK is set to perform at the 2025 Oscars alongside Doja Cat and RAYE. The performance will take place on March 3 at 8 AM Philippine Time (March 2 at 7 AM EST). This marks a historic moment, as Lisa will be the first K-pop idol to grace the Oscars stage.

Lisa released “Born Again” featuring Doja Cat and RAYE last February 7 on all streaming platforms, accompanied by a music video. The song explores a woman’s journey to embracing her freedom and identity. This highlights the influence of women from past centuries on modern empowerment, and as of this writing, it has surpassed 50 million views.
For those unfamiliar, the Academy Awards is an awards-giving body that has recognized excellence in the film industry since 1929. Notably, Bong Joon-ho’s Korean film "Parasite" won Best Picture in 2020, making history. Lisa’s comeback album, Alter Ego, will be released on February 28.
